Fifty-Four 5th grade students have begun rehearsals on this year's musical, "Dig It!". Taki, Tut
and Lucy (a skeleton) take the audience on a journey through ancient civilizations. With stops
in Mesopotamia, Egypt, Asia, Greece and Rome, students learn about the history of civilzation
and entertain as rapping mummies and performing as a Greek chorus. The material in this musical
foreshadows that taught in the 6th grade social studies curriculum on ancient civilizations. The
musical will be performed three times on Thursday, May 29, 2008 in the school's LGI. The
performance times are 9 am, 10:30 am, and 1:30 pm.
A special "thank you" goes to the Cottage Grove PTO once again for their funding of this year's
musical!
