There is no grade next to an assignment. Is the assignment missing?

If an assignment is missing, there will be an M located in the space next to
the assignment, if there is an asterisk, that means I just haven't entered in
the grades yet for that assignment. Please check later in the day. If you are
concerned about a specific assignment, please feel free to call me at school
or email me with a question.

What novels will my child be reading this year?

I typically try to mix up the novels that the students read each year. We do
read The Westing Game and we also read The Phantom Tollbooth. Your child will
read at least two other novels in the course of the year.

Do you give homework?

You can count on your student having some sort of language arts homework
nearly every night. Mondays students typically have spelling homework;
Tuesdays - Thursdays students typically have grammar homework. I try to give
Fridays off, but sometimes there will be homework on a Friday.

How can I help in the classroom?

If you are able to arrange your schedule to be here during the day, I can use
your help! I will be needing parents to help clerical work such as copying or laminating.
Please email or call me if you are willing to help out in our classroom this
year so we can work something out.
