About The Teacher

I have always wanted to be a teacher. In fact, when I was a
little girl, I used to play school with my stuffed animals. So, when I
went to Alverno College in Milwaukee, there was no question about my major.
Besides a love of teaching, I also love computers and integrate them into the
lessons in my classroom. I recently finished my Masters of Instructional
Technology through Cardinal Stritch University.

I love middle school students so much that middle school is the
only grade level I have taught in my thirteen years of teaching! This is my
sixth year teaching language arts at Trevor. Besides teaching 6th grade
language arts, I have also taught 7th & 8th grade language arts, 6th grade
math & social studies, 8th grade algebra, and library studies.

Besides teaching, I have a ton of hobbies! I'm an avid reader and love to read
mystery and science fiction novels. A few years ago I purchased a Kindle so
that I can take all of my books with me wherever I go. I also love to
scrapbook and make crafts. Gardening is another hobby of mine, and I'm in the
process of renovating my flower gardens at home as well as the ones at school.
A lot of you already know that I LOOOVE chocolate, but did you know that my
favorite kind is Reese's Peanut Butter Cups?

I live in Tichigan, WI with my husband, Rob; my three children, John,
Joyline and Jack.

Note: Beware the student who does not like chocolate as they may have to
endure the wrath of Chocolaphestes!
:)

Mission For The Class

My classroom mission is in conjunction with the school's mission of: "Together
with families and community, our mission is to create a student-centered
comprehensive learning environment fostering personal and academic
excellence."

My mission of a teacher is to build lifelong skills that children need to
succeed in the "real-world". Honesty, patience, hard work, and dedication to
the task at hand are all skills that we will work on in my class.

Note: Students will be expected to utilize the computer to complete various
assignments. (If there is no computer/internet access at home, internet
service is available at school both before and after school hours as well as
during advisory.)
