Why use the notebook assignment book?

These are a great tool of organization.  Each child is responsible for 
filling out the notebook page each day before leaving for home. Parents need 
to initial or sign the page each day.

When are HRL (home reading logs) due?

The signed HRL should come the first day of the following week.  In most 
cases this would be the following Monday.  However, if Tuesday is the first 
day back, then they should be returned on Tuesday.

What if my child forgets to bring the HRL on Monday?

Be sure to send it the next day.  I will ALWAYS record the time read as long 
as it has a parent signature.  Students receive a sticker on a chart if the 
HRL is returned signed on Monday.

When will we receive an update of our child's behavior or schoolwork?

Every child will receive at least two per trimester.  They will be sent home 
sporatically--definitely when there is a concern or problem, but also sent 
home when positive good behavior is reported as well.  If this is not often 
enough, then please contact me via note or phone call and we can set up a 
more 
rigid schedule of when the notes would come home.

When can a parent stop by for a conference?

I have an open door policy.  If you have a quick question you can stop by at 
any time.  If you have a question or concern that needs explanation, let's 
set up a time before or after school hours.
