Light--Light creates a feeling or mood about the work. Is the work shown in the daylight or night? How does it make you feel? Shapes and Forms--In each work, the artist using forms and shapes to create their work. Make sure to look at the paintings and sculptures to see what shapes you can find. Texture--Textures cover the surface of things. It can be rough, smooth, flat or bumpy. Lines--These straight objects can outline or make shapes or textures. There are many kinds of lines. Color--Colors are visible because of light. They can be dark, bright, dull, warm or cool. Values--Value is the lightness or darkness of a color. Space--Space can create a 3-dimensional look or it can just be flat. |
