The Black Panthers were a militant urban black organization led by Bobby Seale, Huey Newton and Eldridge Cleaver. Using revolutionary slogans, they called for blacks to arm themselves against white authority and manage their own communities. Though they helped provide services for ghetto residents, their militancy was feared by many whites. For this role you must become Huey Newton. Your group must conduct research to learn who he was and what his philosophies were. During the debate your group will make their argument and answer questions as if you are Huey Newton.
