My name is Bobbie Beasley. I taught for 9 years in the classroom
before becoming the ARI Reading Coach here at SSE. I previously
taught 5th grade for three years at Mitchell Elementary before joining the
faculty at Southside Elem. I also taught 2nd grade for six years in both
Anniston and Gadsden.
I am an alumna of Jacksonville State University, where I was a honored to
be a member of the legendary Marching Ballerinas. I am state certified in
Elementary Education (grades 1-6). I am considered Highly Qualified BOTH in
Elementary Ed. and as a Reading Specialist. I am currently doing graduate
work in the area of Reading Specialist (grades PreK-12).
My husband teaches math at Gadsden City High School, and we have 2 AMAZING
daughters, ages 9 and 3.
I absolutely love teaching and feel that I am doing exactly what God put
me here to do. I feel His ultimate plan was for me to be a mother and a
teacher, and I am SO blessed He has allowed me to accomplish both.
Being a Reading Coach is the most challenging job I've ever had, yet it
continues to be just as rewarding as it is challenging. Having the chance
to be of service to teachers with professional development opportunities,
being able to assist one-on-one with struggling readers, and working with
the faculty to collaborate on strategies to help ALL of "our" children
succeed in the lifelong skill of reading is a lot of responsibility, yet it
allows me to touch so many lives every single day.
**Mrs. Beasley is a proud member of both the International Reading
Association and the Alabama Reading Association.
