Diane Gosney grew up in San Diego, California. After attending UC Irvine to earn a BA in psychology
and a teaching credential, she began teaching 4th grade in San Clemente, California in 1990. In
1994-1995, she taught a 4th/5th grade combination and decided at that time to move to 5th grade,
which she continued teaching until 2000. For the 2000-2001 school year, Diane came north to work
on her master's degree at Stanford. Falling in love with the area, she made the move permanent and
was lucky enough to find a job at Duveneck where she has been teaching 5th grade since 2001. In
2006, she earned a National Board of Teaching Credential, a national credential held by less than 2% of
teachers in the country. Reading, traveling, and spending time with her spouse and friends are things
Diane likes to do in her spare time.
