chapter 3 by Thursday; look up "Hatchet" vocabulary words by Wednesday;

Tuesday:
Review Vocabulary Lesson #6; Grammar Lesson #8 "Agreement with Compound
Subject"; Spelling sentence (all 26 words); begin reading "Hatchet"

Descriptive paragraph, five sentence describing a favorite place

October 19th-23rd

Spelling Bee words from Lessons 1-5; pick 5 words from lesson 1-5 and write a
total of 10 sentences; read pp. 552-557 "My Papa, Mark Twain"

Grammar Lesson # 7; answer "Review and Assess" questions 1-4 on page 557; read
pp 558-561 "The Drive-In Movies"


Wednesday:
WWW- Take a position: How much or how little personal information should the
media publish about celebrities' lives? (see Literature Book p567 #8)

Vocabulary Lesson #6

Friday:
SPELLING BEE! HRC and index cards due today


October 12th-16th

Monday:
Spelling pp. 34-39 (test will be 25 words chosen at random from the list on p.
34); make index cards to help you study for the upcoming spelling bee

Daily Practice 2 (1. Awkwardly Matt tried to spear a fish  2.  Matt and Attean
a native american boy became good friends.) Correct the two sentences.
Diary Entry- Imagine that you have just moved to a new country and do not
speak the language.  What kinds of problems and challenges do you think you
wold face? How might you go about solving them? Write a diary entry in which
you describe your feelings about this experience. (due Tuesday)

Read pp. 494-504 "The All-American Slurp"
Community Connection: Diversity worksheet (due Friday)
