Welcome 2010! It is always so nice to begin the new year relaxed and refreshed after the winter break. We begin January with Progress reports going home on Friday, January 8th. This is a mid trimester report, the trimester officially ends on February 19th. If you have any questions regarding their progress, call or email your child’s teacher. We have many great intervention opportunities for students at every grade level.A huge “Thanks” goes to the PTA, community volunteers and Iron House Teachers for their hard work on our Jingle Jamboree event. The raffle baskets were dazzling and the event was a huge success. Our next event will be a Family Reading Night on January 21st. Kids love these events and wear comfy clothes, drink Hot Chocolate, have cookies and read! It doesn’t get better than that on a cold winters night. Calling all talent!! Our talent show tryouts are here January 6th and 7th. The Talent show will be on Friday, January 22nd at 8:15 for K-2 and 9:15 for grades 3-5. This important event gives students an opportunity to share the talents that they have that usually are not a part of the daily curriculum. Last year we had some amazing talent such as musicians, dancers, and poets! Our coat and blanket drive is underway, gently loved items may be donated at the Iron House office. These donations will be sent to shelters and families in need. Iron House Office is still collecting items to mail to the troops, snacks, toiletries, powdered drink mixes etc. We mailed our first group of boxes over the break. Five boxes in all; each to a different soldier serving over seas. We wish you a New Year full of learning, health, and success!Sincerely,Michele Gaudinier, Principal Silvia Treichelt, Assistant Principalmgaudinier@ouesd.k12.ca.us streichelt@ouesd.k12.ca.us
