These are rules your child will learn and use in class. Students apply
these rules in BOTH reading and writing. It's important that your
child be able to say the entire chant and understand its meaning once the
lesson is introduced. This page is meant to be informative and a resource
for you, the parent, to use once lessons are introduced.
Students will be working a lot with short vowel sounds during the beginning
of the school year before specific phonic rules are taught.
