Homework-Per. 2 Adv World History

Week of 2/6 thru 2/10:

Monday (2/6):  Continuation of last Thursday and Friday nights' homework
assignment:  1. Read pages 478-483 (Chapter 9/Section 3--"Hitler and Nazi
Germany") in the textbook.  On page 483, define the 4 "Vocabulary" terms, and
answer questions #4 and #5 (due tomorrow).  2. Work on your "Dictator School
Graduation Project":  a. Select a real country.  b. Rename that country (it is
the nation you will become dictator of when you finish your dictator
internship following graduation.  c. Create a "folksy, yet authoritative"
nickname that you want the citizens of your country to use when they talk
about you.  d. Select the name of your political party.  e. Select 3 major
beliefs/ideas that your political party stands for.  f. Create a symbol for
your political party (Stalin & the communists had the hammer and the sickle,
Hitler and the Nazis had the swatstika, and Mussolini and the Fascists had the
fasces).  g. Select the color of the shirts your young supporters/thugs will
wear.  h. Develop a 'salute' or gesture that your citizens will have to do in
your direction whenever you are in their presence.  i. Design your nation's
flag.  j. Select an enemy you can use to unite your countrymen against.  k.
Select a country that you want to conquer.  This Dictator School project will
be due Wednesday.

Tuesday (2/7):  1. Read pages 486-491 (Chapter 9/Section 4--"Cultural and
Intellectual Trends") in the textbook.  On page 491, select and define 5
"Vocabulary" terms, and answer questions #4 and #5 (due Thursday).  2. Work on
your "Dictator School Graduation Project":  a. Select a real country.  b.
Rename that country (it is the nation you will become dictator of when you
