Standiford Library is a great place to spend some time! Come in and browse
around before school Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 8-8:30, or during
morning recess 10:10-10:30. We are also open after school on Monday,
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday until 3:30 p.m.
There are many exciting displays in the library that will surely interest
you. Can't find anything exciting to read? Ask Mrs. Tomlinson! Don't have
time to take an Accelerated Reader test in class? Come into the library
before or after school or during morning recess and take your A.R.
test! Can't wait to see you!
The Mission of the Sylvan Union School District library program
is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and to
enable them to be information literate and lifelong learners. The library
provides information and resources that help students meet academic
standards.
This mission is accomplished with sufficient funding, appropriate
facilities, and adequate numbers of up-to-date resources in a variety of
formats. It is delivered by a professional library staff in collaboration
with teachers and administrators for the benefit of the entire school
community.
Parents
Parents are always welcome in the Standiford Library Media Center. Parents
may check out materials and use technology in our library. Parents will
also find many useful lists and tips on the links provided under Recommended
Reading and Research Sites on this website.
Parent Volunteers help us in many ways. If you have a few minutes or a few
hours of free time during the week, please contact us and join our Library
Volunteer Crew. We appreciate any help you have to offer!
