Happy 20th Birthday Sharky!

Attention 8th Graders:
Summit’s Recognition Ceremony is a student-centered program. We want our outgoing 8th graders to play a large role in this special event. You can be an important part of this celebration by writing and giving a speech at the Promotion Ceremony or by creating an artistic design for the program cover. These are both incredible ways for you to reflect on your fond Summit memories. The theme is A Universe of Possibilities, there will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, April 22 at lunch in room R-11. We can only choose a few speakers and one art design so make sure to attend this meeting if you are interested.

Battle of the Books is coming up on May 2nd, you will not qualify unless you have read and passed the AR tests for 20 books by April 17th. Permission slips are due to Mrs. Thorne by April 21st.

The adults in your life are right: Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. Not only does it give you energy to start a new day, but breakfast is linked to many health benefits, including weight control and improved performance. With that in mind - I'm excited to let you know that Summit will start serving breakfast beginning Monday, November 3rd. The cost is $1.50 with reduced breakfast costing 30 cents. If you receive a free lunch, you are eligible for a free breakfast, too. Menus are posted to the Breakfast link on the left. Breakfast will be served from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM. So give a Shout Out to Ms. Wilson in the kitchen for making this happen!

Informational Notice

Once or twice a year, missionaries from local church groups visit the neighborhood surrounding Summit Intermediate School and attempt to hand out religious materials. The laws prohibit them from distributing materials on school property, but if they are on public sidewalks they may distribute materials to the public. We want to remind students that they do not have to accept the materials being offered and that we encourage them to check with their parents before accepting any materials outside of school.
