• You need to do your Final Outline for Simon/Doodle essay. The final outline format is under "Handouts." You need to use the correct numbering system. Follow the Roman numeral pattern exactly, as well as, the indentations. Roman numeral I is the introduction, a complete paragraph. The thesis I gave you will be the last sentence of your introduction. We discussed how to do this paragraph in class. Roman numeral II and II are your body paragraphs. You must create your own topic sentences for these. These will not be paragraphs but individual sentences in outline form. Your conclusion is Roman numeral IV. This is also a complete paragraph. Follow the directions on Final Outline handout. Type it and indent correctly. Use MLA format. Bring to class on Monday.
• We will be going back to the library Tuesday for research on your topic, so that you can use the books in the library. Remember: You must have three sources for your Works Cited page. You must use at least one book.
• Monday we will go through all the directions for your Report of Information and how to organize your paragraphs.

• Bring dimes with you for the library if you think you are going to make copies from books.
• Turn your Final Outline in tomorrow. I will have an envelope in the library. See last night's homework for more direction on your Final Outline.
• What should you report about your topic? Write 12 questions about your topic and bring to the library tomorrow. You will answer your questions by focusing on using the library books first, because you can't check them out. You will do the internet research at home or in the library before school, at lunch, or after school.

• Complete Final Outline. You must have an introduction (Roman Numeral I )and a conclusion (Roman Numeral IV) written out in a paragraph. Everything else is in outline form, sentence by sentence.
• WFC due Monday for vocabulary Unit 5. Test will be next Thursday.

• Grammar Handbook-Read pages 21-22 about Adverbs. Then read the directions carefully for Ex. 16 and write the sentences and complete them with interesting adverbs. Due tomorrow.
• Grammar Handbook-Read p. 23 about adverbs modifying adjectives. Then do Ex. 17. Make two columns. The heading on the first column should be adverb and the second column heading should be Adjective. Write only the adverb and the adjective for each sentence. You can do both exercises 16 and 17 on the same paper. Due tomorrow.

• Write body paragraph which is due Tuesday, double-spaced, typed. The topic sentence is: Doodle identifies with the scarlet ibis. You should have eleven sentences like this: TS, CD, CM, CM, CD,CM,CM,CD, CM, CM, CMM. The CD's are examples and the CM's are commentary/opinion. Do not use the word "I" in your paragraph. The last sentence shoul be a summarizing CM.
