Dean of Instruction Crescenciano Camarena	Message from the Dean Like many new adventures, becoming a charter member of a new institution brings us face-to-face with the unknown. The greater part of this journey is the satisfaction of blazing your own trail and accomplishing something unique. Together we will create an academic opportunity that will provide our children with a first rate education and access to professional expertise and technology equal to and beyond any other available in the country. Welcome to this adventure. We are working diligently to develop a curricular program to address the individual academic needs of each of our students and creating a school that is fostering a unique partnership with West Hills Community College Lemoore. Instructors Web Pages Faculty All teachers now have websites, linked from the Faculty button. Visit them frequently to find out homework, announcements, and other class information. You may also email the teachers from their websites. Email is an efficient way of contacting your child's teacher.

Construction - New Buildings If you have not been by the school lately you may have missed the new additions and construction that is taking place at UCS. We have hydro-seeded most of the lawn strips and planted trees and shrubs to compliment the landscape. The new lawn is coming in nicely but is still a few months before we can step on it directly. The new trees and the shade will be welcomed in the spring when the weather warms ups. We also have some new portable buildings being added to our site. These buildings will house our office and a larger cafeteria space. They will be placed on the north side of campus where construction is currently proceeding. This will allow us to utilize two classrooms (room 106 and 108)for our eighth grade class and have all our students on our campus. The old portable buildings, rooms 509 and 510 on the West Hills College campus, will be used for our technology and PE programs. We hope to have this project completed by Spring Break. Finally, we have added irrigation to the field east of the blacktop playground. The area was leveled and seeded and is now beginning to sprout. We have been trying our best to keep people off the field to give it the best chance to fill in with grass. This will give us an additional 18,000 square feet of grassy fields for our kids to play. We are looking forward to the spring and taking advantage of our new additions. I hope you will stop by and take a look at what is happening at UCS.
