WELCOME TO THE STORYTIME LINK!
I am very excited about Storytime this year! We meet every Friday from 11:30-12:30 in Classroom A. There is no need to sign up, you can drop by any Friday you are available. Storytime dates are listed on the school calendar. We are learning about some new authors and illustrators this year, as well as revisiting some old favorites. As before, the first half hour focuses on learning about the featured author/illustrator and reading their books. The second half hour is dedicated to oral presentations. This is the perfect opportunity for your child to complete the Oral Presentation part of their Personal Development requirements. Each week there is a sign up sheet for the next week's presenters. So far, we have had some wonderful, fun and interesting presentations...everything from puppies to crystals! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at mykefi@hotmail.com. Come join us!
Storytime is back with the new year. Here is a schedule for the next couple of months:
9/19: Storytime incorporated in Pulford Farm Follow-Up in classroom A--10:30-12:30.
9/26, 10/3, 10/10, 10/17: Storytime immediately following workshop classes in classroom A.
10/24, 10/31: Storytime from 11:30-12:30 classroom A
In the past, our themes have included Gems of Our Own Library. We've read and enjoyed 2 Caldecott Winners and 1 all-time favorite--all three found in our own Classroom A library. The students were inspired to take a few minutes whenever they visit Classroom A to browse our wonderful and growing library.
Past Featured Authors/Illustrators:
David Shannon is a gifted writer and illustrator who has won the prestigious Caldecott Award. His books include "A Bad Case of Stripes" and "NO, David!". We learned that he actually first wrote "No David" when he was only 5 years old! We also learned that his office/studio is in a treehouse!
