Feel like having a little fun right before school starts?  Then come on out on Thursday, August 14th to our Mandatory Parent Meeting!  This will be a night filled with lots of ideas and even some delicious ice cream!  It is a great time to meet up with old friends and greet some new ones.  Our staff has some wonderful things planned for the new school year, and we're looking forward to seeing you all there!  For now, however, enjoy your summer!

We have an exciting and safe way to share school pictures from workshops, fieldtrips, and activities.  Ask for a password from your resource teacher. Then go to www.valleyoaks.shutterfly.com , enter the password click ok, click on the album you would like to view, then click View as Slideshow, and it is as easy as that.  If you would like to order a copy of a picture, you can sign-up with Shutterfly and order copies or just enjoy the show.

PERFECT 10 GYMNASTICS SIGN UPS

Perfect 10 Gymnastics will again be offering the Gymnastics Vendor Service for the 2008/2009 school year for K through 8th grade VOCS students. Classes meet once per week at Perfect 10 Gymnastics, 20701 South St., for the entire school year (starting 9/8/08 and ending with the Extravaganza in May 2009). If you would like to take gymnastics for the 2008/2009 school year, and you are a new or returning student, and you have not yet pre-registered with Perfect 10,  please register by calling Perfect 10 Gymnastics at 822-7179.

FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENT OPPORTUNITY

“Think you might want a little culture in your life?  Host a French foreign exchange student here in Tehachapi!  Horizons du Monde is a tour and travel agency, dedicated to improving international understanding of other cultures.  This educational program is a cross-cultural experience for families, and is a rich and rewarding experience of a lifetime!  We are expecting 15 students from France , who need homestays for three weeks from July 9th through July 29th here in Tehachapi.  Becoming a host family is a wonderful way to contribute to world friendship, understanding and peace.  We are in great need of host families, and would love to hear from you!  For more information, and to become a host family, please contact Sue Sampley at 823-1502.”

    October 6-8, 2008 (3 Days) for 5th-6th Graders
