Dear Johnny,
My students and I have examined your web page and found it very
interesting. We printed a copy of you with some of your students and
put it up in our classroom.
I hope that some of our students can exchange letters. Let me
know if they can answer some of the letters we already sent. If you
would like more letters we will send some.
Thanks,
Mike Goodrich

I am a teacher of 11 and 12 year old students in Huntington
Beach, California. We will soon study the ancient history of China
and I would like my students to correspond with Chinese students
their age. Some of my students are Chinese who were born in the
United States.
Let me know if your students would like to exchange e-mail with my
students.
Yours truly,
Mike Goodrich

Hi!
I just wanted to let you know that our students love your web site on
teacherweb.com. Our school has recently set up all of our teacher
sites at
teacherweb. I took the students there so that they could then return
home
and show their parents.
After finding their teacher, I allowed them to check out other teacher
sites. Yours was the most popular and spread like wild fire. They
enjoyed
printing out the stories of the students and the translations that
were
printed below them.
Your photos are magnificent. You truly have done a wonderful job in
creating your site. Thank you for making this educational lesson a
valuable
one for our students.

Dear Mr. Wu and 5th grade class,
It was such a pleasant surprise to hear from you! I had no idea that
my lesson would reach so far and be of interest to anyone overseas.
Please explain what you are looking for and perhaps I can be of some
help. It wasn't clear to me whether you are interested in having pen
pals with my class of third graders or if you would like some lesson
plans to better help you learn English. It certainly would be
wonderful to correspond with your class if that is something you
would enjoy. But our letters would have to be hand written and
mailed via our post office as our school is not connected to the
internet yet.
Looking forward to hearing from you, too.
Sincerely yours,
Diane O'Malley
Dear Mr. Wus Class,
The letters are on the way!!. We tried to write the best that we
could. This is the first time many of the children have ever written
a formal letter. Some of the spelling is not correct but we'll
continue to work on perfection. Many of these children are eight
years old, come from poor families, and are very hard workers. Some
do very well in school but many struggle with the lessons. I hope
you enjoy the letters.
As for me, I have been living in Florida for twelve years. I am from
Massachusetts just outside of Boston. My two brothers live in
Massachusetts with their families. My mother, my aunt and uncle live
here in Florida, too. I have been teaching in Florida for the same
amount of years that I have been living here. Before that, I was
working with lawyers in Boston. Teaching has always been my first
love, so I decided to change my career from law to teaching. I do
enjoy teaching.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Diane O'Malley

Socorro, Texas, USA
Our class would be interested in exchanging information with your
kids.We are located in Socorro, Texas USA. Our students here are
primarily bilingual. The second language they speak is Spanish.
Many of our students either immigrated or their parents immigrated
from Mexico. So they have that rich culture to draw on which would
enable your students to learn about two cultures---American, and
Mexican. Our area is also unique because it resides on the border,
which also influences our students' experiences that other students
in America don't exactly share. In our area, are some of the oldest
Missions. That too is a topic of interest which our students could
share.
Please let us know if you are interested in corresponding with us.
Sincerely,
Helene Holt

Hello Mr. Wu,
How would you like to proceed with communications. Through email?
Or, would you prefer through actual letters. Both work for us.
Please let us know what you think.
Thank you so much for allowing us to participate. I'm including our
school's website address :

Hello,
My name is Chris Powell and I teach at Antioch
School in Yellow Springs, Ohio, USA. I was
wondering if your English students would like to
write to my students. I am unclear of the ages
of your students, who are excellent writers, by
the way. My students range in age from 9 years
old through 12 years old.
I have been learning some Mandarin Chinese,
but only since September, so I have a long way to
go before I am even a little bit fluent. I am
planning a trip to China this spring or summer
and plan to bring back a lot of photographs for
my students to see.
I really enjoyed your webpage. It is much more
developed than many I have looked at. The
addition of photographs adds a personal touch. My
website is:
http://TeacherWeb.com/OH/AntiochSchool/Chris/
I hope we get to hear from you and your students.
Sincerely,
Chris Powell
