This is my 11th year teaching high school history courses, and my 6th at Coral
Springs High School.
My undergraduate degree is in Social Science 6-12 from Florida State
University, and I earned a Masters degree from Florida Atlantic University in
the field of Educational Leadership.
My educational philosophy centers on cooperative learning, where the students
think critically about historical matters, and relate them to the happenings
of modern day issues that we face. History is all around us, it LIVES in the
people who continue to create it, learn it, and love it!!!
Along with teaching American History, Mr. Dearen is also Lockout coordinator
for first hour, and is Head Coach for the Boys Basketball Program.
