Cypress Woods Wins CEP Promising Practice Award for 3rd Consecutive Year

The Character Education Partnership (CEP) of Washington DC has recognized Cypress Woods with two International Promising Practice Awards for the 2010-11 school year.

Mr. Jessie and Ms. Russell were recognized for STAND/Hero of the Planet. A collaborative effort between the Cafeteria Manager Kathy Bukovey, PTA Wellness Committee members Andrea Thogmartin and Michelle Kelley, Dr. Moore, and the PE Team was recognized for The Alliance. 235 schools worldwide were honored with a total of 260 Awards. Cypress was one of only 25 schools to receive two Awards. The Awards will be presented at the National Character Convention in San Francisco October 19 through 22, 2011.

Cypress won a Promising Practice Award in 2010 for SEM. The PE Team has been recognized for an unprecedented three consecutive years. In addition to their work on The Alliance, in 2009 the PE Team was recognized for The Clipboard and The List and in 2010 it was The Student-led 10-Minute Talk.
