Announcements

2/13/12

I was out today and might be absent again tomorrow. My daughter had an
allergic reaction to medicine. Therefore, the amount of homework might be
less than normal.

Tomorrow the 5th grade is having a Chocolate Day. Students
are able to participate by completing their Chocolate Packet. Students have
been given plenty of time in class to finish most, if not all of the packet.
The culminating activity is to have a chocolate tasting. We are asking
parents / students to make or buy a chocolate dessert for their class. Many
students have peanut allergies, so please leave nut products out of the
desserts. If nuts are in your dessert, please clearly mark it.

Below are the directions for the students that need to put their symbol on
their jersey:

Turn iron on to highest cotton setting and make sure it is hot before you
begin. Place shirt on a hard flat surface that can withstand the heat
(dining room or kitchen table work well) and iron out any wrinkles in the
shirt to avoid problems with the transfer. Place transfer on shirt with
design facing the shirt - the straight lines on the back of the transfer
paper should be facing you. Iron the transfer for approximately 60 seconds
using constant motion and pressure. DO NOT USE STEAM. Be sure to cover all
areas of the transfer so that the entire picture will stick. Let shirt cool
before peeling off the transfer (approximately 2 minutes). If the transfer
starts to come off with the paper then repeat the ironing process.

When washing the shirt please use cold water and make sure it is turned
INSIDE OUT. You can dry on a low dryer setting but I hang mine to dry so
that the transfer will last longer. If you iron the shirt after washing DO
NOT iron directly on the transfer.
