What time is lunch?

Our class goes to lunch from 11:45-12:15. You are welcome to dine with your 
child any day. If you plan to eat please let me know that morning so that I 
can tell the cafeteria staff.

Do we have snack?

Yes. We have a snack in the morning. Please send your child with a 
healthy snack each day. No drinks please.

When do first graders take standardized tests?

We will take the CRCT in April.  I will let you know the exact dates when 
they are available to us.

Can I volunteer in the class?

Absolutely. Please contact me if you are interested in helping out during 
the school day.

What can I do to help my child at home?

It is very important to read to and with your child every night.  Encourage 
him to use the reading strategies we have learned at school. Writing in a 
journal or notebook is a wonderful way to get children to practice getting 
their thoughts on paper. Please send in any exciting writing pieces for us 
to read at school. Practice basic addition and subtraction problem recall 
with flashcards.

Do you go outside everyday?

Unless it is extremely cold or raining we go to the playground for 15-20 
minutes each day.Please dress your child with this in mind and label all 
jackets and sweaters.
