Homework comes home daily Monday-Thursday. It is always an expectation for
your child to read for at least ten minutes each night. In addition, I will
send home Math work on Monday and Wednesday, Phonics on Tuesday and theme
work on Thursday. Please allow your child to complete his homework
independently and then you may check it and make any necessary suggestions.
Keep in mind that homework is used to reinforce skills being taught at
school and to work on responsibility. The children work very hard during the
day and therefore I do not send home a large quantity of work at night.
If you feel your child needs extra work please encourage him to write in a
journal or read. Thanks for your support.
We will also be working with the Jr. Great Books program this year! There
will be nightly homework on the weeks we are reading a JGB story! You and
your child will love it!
