| Homework comes home daily Monday-Thursday. It is always an expectation for
your child to read for at least ten minutes each night. In addition, I will
send home Math work on Monday and Wednesday, Phonics on Tuesday and theme
work on Thursday. Please allow your child to complete his homework
independently and then you may check it and make any necessary suggestions.
Keep in mind that homework is used to reinforce skills being taught at
school and to work on responsibility. The children work very hard during the
day and therefore I do not send home a large quantity of work at night.
If you feel your child needs extra work please encourage him to write in a
journal or read. Thanks for your support.
Every Wednesday your child will bring home a book in a bag. This book is
on your child's reading level and he needs to read it two times each night.
Please work with your child on fluency and expression. Complete
the sheet to give me any feedback about your child's reading. Please return
the book in a bag on Monday.
Spelling tests will begin the second nine weeks of school. The words for
the week will always be posted on this page.
