Also, StudentEdge sponsors "Getting In" A Free Online College Planning Event. These webinar workshops are held from 3:00 - 10:00 pm. Seats are limited to 1,000 attendees per session. Use the StudentEdge website above to register.
ALL Juniors should take the ACT at least once this year. I recommend taking it two to three times this year. If a student can achieve the score they want during their junior year, then the senior year can be focused on college applications and scholarships. See the ACT page for test dates and registration deadlines.
Governor's School for the Arts
ArtShops
ArtShops are free to high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors and give "an opportunity to participate in a hands-on workshop in their chosen art form. Students applying for the Governor's School for the Arts are highly encouraged to attend to better prepare them for the audition/review process in March. Summer Program
For high school sophomores and juniors - "a free residential three-week program (June 20 - July 10, 2010) that instructs students in one of nine art forms - architecture, creative writing, dance, drama, instrumental music, musical theatre, new media, visual art and vocal music.
