Work Ethic Certificates / Diploma

CCS 9^th – 12^th Grade Students:

 (9^th-11^th Grade for Work Ethic Certificate)

(12^th Grade for Work Ethic Diploma)

 Every student has the opportunity to receive the Work Ethic Certificate/Diploma.  The Work Ethic is a program developed by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.  Students must meet certain criteria based on attendance, tardies, discipline, grade point average, community service, work ethic, punctuality, respectfulness, and group cooperation.  Earning the Work Ethic Certificate/Diploma will be an asset for you as you apply for colleges, scholarships and jobs.  Students must get a packet with the items needed to apply for the Certificate/Diploma.  Follow the instructions and turn all required materials in by the due date.  A copy of the Standard's Form is below:

Maximum (2 pts.) - Student has completed 12 hours of community service.

Minimum (1 pt.) - There has been no more than one discipline referral during the senior year.

Maximum (2 pts.) - There have been no discipline referrals during the senior year.

__________ 7.. Attendance Standard

Minimum (1 pt.) - Student has maintained an attendance rate of 94% during the senior year.

Maximum (2 pts.) - Student has maintained an attendance rate of 97% during the senior year.

___________ 8. Absence Standard

Minimum (1 pt.) - Student has no more than one unexcused absence during the senior year.

Maximum (2 pts.) - Student has no unexcused absences during the senior year.

Minimum (1 pt.) - Student has no more than one unexcused tardy during the senior year.

Maximum (2 pts.) - Student has no unexcused tardies during the senior year.

___________ 10.. Overall Grade Point Average Standard (7 semesters or more)

Minimum (I pt.) - Student has a 2.0 - 2.99 grade point average.

Maximum (2 pts.) - Student has a 3.0 or above grade point average.

>          To receive the Work Ethic Diploma/Career Passport, the student must earn (16) points.

>          The principal or designee must submit a list of qualifiers by May 1 of each school year to the N.. KY Chamber of Commerce.
