Front of Binder:- Notes from School & Things to turn in
-Notes from school include newsletters and other school notices. Take these out nightly.
Returned forms and completed homework will be returned to me in this pocket of the binder.

Sheet protector #1: Weekly Homework--Our Weekly Homework Sheet on the front and on the back,
lunch menus

Sheet protector #2: Reading Vocabulary-- Reading Vocabulary –This is a list of reading words
used in our reading book.
On the back is a list of Reading Homework Choices. These are used to help your child learn the
reading vocabulary.

Sheet protector #3: Spelling Words –This is a list of spelling words used with our reading story
skills.
On the back is a list of Spelling Homework Choices. These are used to help your child learn
their spelling list. Use the paper in the binder to do your spelling homework.

 Yellow Folder:
Daily Behavior Chart
Parent/Teacher Communication One side will hold the daily behavior sheet. Your child will
fill it in everyday. Please check to see our word of the day. Talk to your child about his/her
day.
This will be for notes between you and me. Please stress to your children that this is ONLY for
your teacher and parents to write in. I will be writing notes to you in this section and looking
for communications from you there. PLEASE DATE EACH ENTRY! Check daily and I will do the same
for communications from you. I would also ask that you leave any notes that we may write in the
notebook so that we can look back and remember any communications we may have had. This will
help me remember what we've discussed and when we discussed it. I try to check it regularly,
but occasionally we get busy and a note goes unread. I initial all notes I read from you and ask
that you do the same! That way, we know our notes have been read, even when no response is
necessary.

Back of binder: Homework Section---This section is where you will find weekly practice pages,
and any other sheets needed for homework! The "homework" for the week is on the form in the
front of the book, so you know what nights your child has homework! Please refer to this page
for exact homework assignments. All homework should be returned the following school day unless
otherwise noted


Red Classwork Folders- Your child will be bringing home a red folder each school day. Please
check this folder each evening and look over daily classwork and art work. You can “oooh and
ahhh” over these papers and keep them at home. I ‘m sure you’ll want to praise your child and
hang some of these papers on your refrigerator.

Graded Papers- Every Tuesday, your child will bring home a yellow VIP folder, Very Important
Papers. This folder will contain graded papers from the previous week. Please sign the record
sheet on the inside of the folder and return it to school the next day. This folder allows you
to see your child’s progress in class. Please return the papers so I can keep them for my
records.
