Class notes and all assignments are to be kept in your American History notebook. Notes and assignments should be dated and kept in order. Notebooks will be checked periodically. All assignments, with the exception of maps are to be written in blue or black ink or typed. All maps are to be completed in pencil.

Assignments are due on the given due date. Make-up work and tests will be handled according to CPSB guidelines, one day excused absence allows for three days to make up work for work assigned during an absence. Previously assigned work is due upon returning to school. Previously scheduled tests will be made up the day following the excused absence. There will not be extended time given for long-range assignments when  absent on the due date. If absent on a day a video is shown or a classroom reading from a novel is assigned, make arrangements to come before or after school to complete missed assignment. The school tardy policy is strictly followed. Be in your seat when the bell rings and prepared for class activities. Students are to wear their school ID upon entering the classroom. The ID must be visible and worn outside clothing with the photo showing.

Grades are determined according to how well the requirements are met. Assignments will consist of maps and written work. Evaluation of knowledge will include quizzes, chapter and map tests. A project or report will be assigned each nine weeks.  Point value for these projects will range from 100-400 points. All students will be required to participate in a research project for the Social Studies Fair. Semester tests will be comprehensive.

Students are expected to be in class and seated when the tardy bell rings. Bring all materials to class. You will not be allowed to go to your car, locker, or another teacher’s classroom after class has started. No food or drink is allowed in the classroom. Infractions of class rules will result first in a verbal warning, second a parent contact, and third a teacher detention referral/ referral to the office. My planning period is 7th hour if you have any questions or concerns.
