Husky Hangout Happenings

Our daily schedule will be somewhat flexible and subject to change depending on the activities planned for the day.  Below, you will find an outline of a typical day.

8:30-9:00--Drop off and Group Meeting
9:00-10:00--Block 1
10:00-11:00--Block 2
11:00-11:20--Snack/Recess
11:20-12:20--Block 3
12:20-1:20--Lunch/Recess
1:25-2:25--Block 4
2:25-2:45--Group Meeting
2:45-3:00--Pick up

 

Weekly Activities for Summer 2008

Week 1 Activities
Outstanding Ocean Art--including Painted Fish Paperweights, Paperplate Porthole Pictures, and other Arts and Craft activities
Kids Cookin'--including Cinnamon Buns, Chocolate Chip Muffins, and Edible Ocean Buckets
Young Engineers--including constructing K-nex Race Cars, Floating Boats, and more!
Phys. Ed. Games
Field Trip (Wednesday)--Seacoast Science Center
Fun Friday--New England Aquarium Presentation: Rockhopper Penguins!

Week 2 Activities
Fourth of July Theme Week--including arts, crafts, games, yummy treats, and more!
Phys. Ed. Games
Field Trip (Wednesday)--Chunky's Theatre to see WALL-E
Fun Friday--4th of July BBQ including hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and make your own ice cream sundaes!

Week 3 Activities
Gardening Galore--including Planting to beautify our school yard, Make Your Own Stepping Stone , and other Arts and Craft activities
Great Egg Drop--Can you design a container that will protect an egg from breaking when dropped from a window?
Science of Slime
Talent Show--Calling all performers!  What talent do you want to showcase for your fellow Huskies?  Don't worry if you are shy.  We need an audience too! :-)
Phys. Ed. Games
Field Trip (Thursday)--CoCo Key Water Resort
Fun Friday--Mike Bent's AbraKIDabra!

Week 4 Activities
Mystery Animals--Mystery Animal PowerPoint presentations
Readers' Theatre--There will be lots of DRAMA in this block! :-)  The students will put on two plays on Friday.
Amazing Animals--including animal crafts, a backbone model, and more!
Phys. Ed. Games
Field Trip (Wednesday)--York Wild Animal Kingdom
Fun Friday--Rainforest Reptiles

Week 5 Activities
Building Bridges--Can you make a bridge out of newspaper?
Sensational Science--including Make Your Own Superball, Science Demonstrations, and more!
Holiday Celebrations--including holiday cooking, an Easter egg hunt, and a Halloween party!
Phys. Ed. Games
Field Trip (Thursday)--Manchester Fisher Cats
Fun Friday--Homegrown Lacrosse

Week 5 Activities
Making Marionettes
Husky Hangout Olympics--including classroom Olympic games and many other opportunities to earn points for your city-state!
Toy Crafts--including design your own kite, frisbee, and more!
Phys. Ed. Games
Field Trip (Thursday)--Foothills Theatre
Fun Friday--Husky Hangout Carnival
