The School has returned from the deep freeze ice storm and everyone could not
be more grateful for electricity!
There are so Many things going on here at Chocksett!
We have managed to get our school play, School House Rock, up and running.
The cast has been chosen and rehersals have begun. We are looking foward to
the presentation of the play on March 19, 20 and 21st. All shows will now be
at 7PM. Our original daytime presentation on the 21st, has been moved to an
evening showing as students wil be in school now on Saturday the 21st.
Our Eagles Girls and Boys Basketball Teams have already played halfway
through their season! They are both doing quite well. Our Girls team holds a
record of 5 and 2, while our boys team is still riding on cloaud nine from
last Friday nights win against Mountview!
Mathletes are meeting, the cooking club is cooking and skiers are skiing!
Students are all working hard and behaving well. We have been very fortunate
to have both our schol psychologist and graduate intern working on a
bullying/harrassment program here this year and we have a teacher/
parent/student task force in place as well.
It has been a really good year so far, and we are looking forward to the
whole year continuing in a like manner! Thanks to all our parents out there
who continue to support our school by making sure their children are rested,
ready to learn and respectful! We can not do it without your help!
Best regards,
Mrs. Sab

'Tis The Season !
Each year I attempt to write a brief, (sometimes legnthy) message about the
importance this time of year holds for me. This year I thought, in light of
both the challenges we face economically and the hope of new beginings in
Washington, that it would be appropriate to focus on how hope itself, can
help those who are finacially,(or otherwise) struggling.
Hope is one of those words that can elicit both exciting and calming effects.
"I hope that I make a great play at basketball tonight!" Or, "I hope
everything will be okay for Mark." Either way, it is a positive word that
speaks to ones desire to share enthusiasm and thoughtfulness.
I hope that each person who reads this message shares their hope this season
by spreading enthusiasm and or a sense of calm wherever needed. If you know
someone who is having a difficult time, tell them how much they mean to you.
If they are worried sick about finaces, let them know some ideas you have
about how they might find that job they are looking for.
Hope is really one of the greatest gifts we can give to one another. Without
hope, it is difficult at times to image how some get up each morning and
proceed through their day. One of the best things about hope is that it cost
absolutely nothing to give or to maintain. It is a healing gift and it
should be shared readily with anyone who is willing to accepts its benifits.
I hope that this coming year all of our Chocksett students, parents, faculty
and staff are filled with love and laughter, good health, prosperity and an
abiding sense of hope in their hearts.
My Best always,
Mrs. Sab

Welcome Back Everyone!
As I stated in my end of the year message to you in June(see below),I am
looking forward to another positive school year for 2008-2009!
The school is ready, the teachers and adminsitration are ready and we know
all our students are ready, right? Okay, maybe you all wish you had a few
more weeks but just remember how fun it is to reunite with friends on a
daily basis, and to meet all your new teachers, then it will be excititng to
gear up for your new school year! Most importantly, realize that you have a
new year ahead of you to grow both academically and emotionally and to
become more than you have been before!
A special note to parents:
As we get underway, please know that I am here to assist you in any way I
can, so if you have a question or concern, do not hesitiate to call me at
the school or email me at elizabeth_sabacinski@wrsd.net
Best regards,
Mrs. Sab

So here we are already, getting prepared to close out yet another school
year! The time truly does go by so quickly and it always seems there is
never enough time to accomplish all that we wish we could, in any given
year. The good news is, this year has been a truly positive year with
everyone putting in the necessary effort to ensure that all aspects of
of our school, ran smoothly. And as most of us know, they do say,
" Time flies when your having fun...."
Students achieved much academically, from the fifth graders who participated
in our new Literacy Initiative to the eighth graders who rose to the
request of their science teacher Mrs. Petit, who asked her students to
remain focused on their school work, as she put her energy into battling
cancer.
It is always such a treat to watch a class, who has been with us since the
tender age of ten as fifth graders, go on to high school after eighth grade
graduation! This years classs is one of those classes you wish would stay
forever. They have been hardwroking, respectful students, many of whom
qualified for academic achievment awards in many areas and from several
differnt organizations incliuding the Chocksett Club, the New England League
of Middle Schools and the Presidential Academic Fitness Award. We all know
however, that as much as they would be a joy to hold onto, they must move
forward. As they go, we hope that they will take all the positive lessons
they have learned here at Chocksett Middle School with them through their
high school journey. We wish them genuine happiness and every success.
For our up-coming eighth, seventh and sixth graders, the school is offering
a courtsey service this year that will allow you to purchase school supplies
here at school through a company called SchoolKIdz. The order forms must be
returned with a check payable to WRSD, no Later than JUNE 2ND. This is a
short shoppping window so if you are interested, be sure to ask your child
for the order forms they are bringing home today!
Parents of incoming fifth grade students please note that fifth grade
teachers have opted to not participate in this program, so please
check fifth grade teacher webpages for any information for incoming fifth
graders relative to their supply needs.
As this will likely be the last updated letter from me this year, let me
take this opportunity to thank all the parents, students and faculty and
staff who have contributed to Chocksett having such a great year. I hope
that each of you will have a summer filled with fun, relaxation and fond
memeories. I also hope that we can come back back together in the fall,
ready to have another positive year!!!
Best regards,
Mrs. Sab
2007/2008 School Year
Dear Parents/Gaurdians and Students,
It is so hard to believe that we are approaching the middle of October
already! Our year has been very positive thus far and we have high
expectations that it will continue to be this great all the way 'til June!
One of the most important messages any parent can give a child is that their
expectation for school work completion and appropriate school behavior is
non-negotiable. Research has shown that when schools and parents work
together to maintain this consistant message, students are more respectful,
have better grades, abide by rules and feel better about themselves.
I know the parents of Chocksett have always believed that their children
should work hard, be respectful and behave appropriately. It is one of the
many reasons I look forward to working with each of you again this year, as
together we whitness the sucess of all our students.
Best regards,
Mrs. Sabacinski
