Expectations

Mr. Venezia
CLASS EXPECTATIONS

1. On Time: Students are expected to be in their seats by the second bell.
Any student arriving without a pass after the bell will be considered
tardy. Tardy students will be required to report to me after school.
Failure to show will result in a 1-hour detention. There may be an
occasional, legitimate reason for a student being tardy, but
constant class disruptions by tardy students will not be tolerated.

2. Be Prepared: Students are expected to bring their, notebooks,
pens, pencils, and any other material necessary for class work. No one will
be allowed to leave the classroom to go to his or her locker once the second
bell has rung.

3. Effort: I expect every student to put forth his or her best effort.
This entails paying attention in class, active participation, and doing
assigned work on time.

4. Behavior: The use of profanity, bullying, disruptions or any other
inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

5. Respect: Students are expected to respect classmates and teachers for
who they are and what they say. While discussion and debate are important
in the classroom, they must not become personal. Students are also required
to respect all school property.

6. Honor: Students are expected to do their own work; cheating, copying of
homework and plagiarizing will not be tolerated. For further information
refer to Student Handbook.

7. Miscellaneous: a.) School rules allow for the bringing of water only
into class. No other beverages or food will be allowed in class; and b.)
What you have to say is important; and as a class we will listen, but only
one person at a time speaks.

8. No iPods, cell phones or any electronic devices are allowed during class.
This a school rule and will be enforced. Devices will be confiscated and
turned over to the vice principal. Students using cell phones during tests
will be considered cheating.

9. Due dates are firm. No late homework will be accepted. Late projects
will lose a full grade if one day late and will not be accepted afterwards.

10. What Can Be Expected Of Me: I will do nothing to intentionally
humiliate a student. I will be on time for class. I will be prepared and
give my best effort, and if you have something to say, I will listen to you.
