Phil Corrin was named Director of Bands at Garden City Collegiate in 1992, after teaching at
Jefferson Junior High for five years. A Garden City Collegiate alumnus, Mr. Corrin received his
Bachelor of Music Education from Brandon University and a Graduate Diploma in Fine Arts
(Conducting) from the University of Calgary. In addition to his work at Garden City, Mr. Corrin is
in demand as a conductor of musical theatre. His recent work in that genre includes productions
by the Rady Jewish Community Centre, Balmoral Hall School, the Gray Academy of jewish Education, as
well as several appearances at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival. He has also served as director of the
Manitoba All-Star Junior High School Jazz Band and the University of Winnipeg Downtown Jazz
Band.
