Writer's Corner

We read "The Big Orange Splot" by Daniel Marcus Pinkwater. In this story
Mr. Plumbean and his neighbors are able to create a house of dreams. We
wrote about our dream houses!

My dream house would be a giant sculpture of Elvis' head. He would also be
eating a fried peanut butter and banana sandwich. Also, whenever somebody
came in, I would make them change into a jail outfit and an army hat and blue
shoes. Whenever you turned on the TV, Blue Hawaii or other movies with Elvis
in them would come on. The napkins would have pictures of Elvis on them and
so would the toilet paper. There would also be stairs that led up to the
top, which is Elvis' hair and and...you would get to change his hair style!
Once a week you would get to meet Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley live and
in person. (Those people are his wife and daughter).

--Emily

My dream house has a 14-foot pool, bouncy balls, and an elevator. It has a
big "A" at the top that stands for Aden. In the bouncy ball room you can
bounce all over the place. At the pool room, there's a high dive and it's 14
feet.

--Aden

My dream house has a TV/computer, McDonald's, rollercoaster, pool, candy
shop, arcade, and a tree house room. When you walk in the arcade, there's a
Wii, Xbox, Xbox 360, GameBoy, DS, and GameCube. When you walk in the
stadium, you hear the Redskins song, and on the computer/TV you see the
Redskins, too. There's a flat screen TV. In the candy shop, there's every
single candy in the world. My favorite is Hershey's chocolate. In the
McDonald's you can cook your food. On the rollercoaster, you go at 70 mph
and you go up 50 feet. On the first floor of the tree house there's a
beanbag, a TV, and a hot tub. On the second floor, there's a Wii, XBox 360
and DS. On the third floor, there's a swing set, trampoline, and a
basketball court and soccer ball field.

--Jack K.

In my dream house, I'm playing Grand Theft Auto and my son just came back
from 1st grade, and my wife is making dinner. We're having spaghetti for
dinner. After he does his homework, we shoot some hoops. Then we go ride
our skateboard outside. Last, we play football.

--Julian

My dream house is a giant soccer ball with an outdoor and indoor soccer
field! You can make your own ball, too! Also, I've got 50 different cleats
to use. I have tons of different colored soccer socks! I guess I would have
different shin guards, too. The house would have machines that help me
practice any part of soccer. Plus, there would be a target so I could
practice my aim! You could put any design on your soccer ball when you made
your own! I could have a soccer-themed room, my own wall of fame with
pictures of my favorite soccer players, and soccer cushions on the couches!
Maybe a soccer ball carpet. I could have soccer bowls, plates, and a food
dispenser that gives out soccer stuff. Soccer tables, maybe a soccer ball
shaped room or balcony. My TV would have all the soccer channels. Also, I
would have a rollercoaster and the seats would be very comfortable. Maybe
three seats would be shaped like feet and one would be a soccer ball. I
would never get old! My house would have a library. It could have every
book I ever wanted to read! I would have a tree house outside. There would
be a golf course, tennis court, and any other sport you could think of. What
a great house!

--Ariel

My dream house has a moat with alligators in the moat. If you go inside,
there is a big statue of me that is made out of gold. Also, if you ride the
rollercoaster on the left, you will go to my wardrobe. First you will have
to get a map of the wardrobe. Also, if you ask for the tour of my wardrobe,
you will get to go to the aquarium, too. My wardrobe is really big! If you
go on the rollercoaster on the right, you will go to the sports zone. In the
sports zone, there is a soccer field and a swimming pool. At 3:45 everybody
comes in for tea, and it ends at 4:15.
