S.IP.E.1 Inquiry involves
generating questions, conducting investigations, and
developing solutions to problems through reasoning and
observation.
To work on our observation, data collection, and
investigating we will participate in many hands-on
projects during the year and will enter a project into
our school's science fair!

P.PM.E.1 Physical Properties-
All objects and substances have physical properties
that can be measured.
We will have so much fun exploring matter and
working with it's properties!
|
P.PM.E.4 Material Composition-
Some objects are composed of a single substance, while
other objects are composed of more than one substance.
You will love learning about mixtures and
solutions! We get to make a sorts of "concoctions" and
determine if they are mixtures or solutions!

L.OL.E.1 Life
Requirements- Organisms have basic needs. Animals and
plants need air, water, and food. Plants also require
light. Plants and animals use food as a source of
energy and as a source of building material for growth
and repair.
L.OL.E.2 Life Cycles- Plants and
animals have life cycles. Both plants and animals
begin life and develop into adults, reproduce, and
eventually die. The details of this life cycle are
different for different organisms.
L.HE.E.1 Observable
Characteristics- Plants and animals share many, but
not all, characteristics of their parents.
We will explore plant life cycles, adult and young
plants, and read tons of plant books! We'll even plant
our own seeds, look at seeds, and make a "plant part
salad"!
|
E.SE.E.2 Surface Changes- The
surface of Earth changes. Some changes are due to slow
processes, such as erosion and weathering, and some
changes are due to rapid processes, such as
landslides, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes.
We will learn all about Earth's landforms and
bodies of water- mountains, plateaus, plains, hills,
streams, oceans, and more! We'll make models of
landforms, jam to a landform rock song, and even make
edible landforms!
|
E.FE.E.1 Water- Water is a
natural resource and is found under the ground, on the
surface of the Earth, and in the sky. It exists in
three states (liquid, solid, gas) and can go back and
forth from one form to another.
E.FE.E.2 Water Movement- Water
moves in predictable patterns.
We will study the water cycle and weather. You will
LOVE learning about the water cycle! We'll get to see
the water cycle in action, make water cycle bracelets,
learn a water cycle song and dance, and have tons of
fun learning about weather. We'll do "Cloudy With a
Chance of..." projects, write weather list poems, and
make pretty precipitation. I know you'll love it!
