Mrs. Bainbridge's Rules and Procedures

Classroom Rules

To be successful in 2nd grade, there are a few rules every Buckaroo must follow.

In the classroom, we will strive to follow our school rules-

Be safe!

Be respectful!

Be responsible!

We will also keep a positive attitude.

These rules together spell STAR…

 Rewards for exemplary behavior* include…

~award from the teacher

~feeling good about yourself

~a piece of candy

~earning a classroom ticket... maybe your ticket will get pulled at the drawing on Friday for a prize!!!

~earning a "Chiefs Ticket"! We'll hang this on our door for the day and then you can take it home and show mom and dad that you were safe, respectful, or responsible during the school day!

Consequences for poor behavior* choices include…

~after 1 verbal warning, move from “green” to “yellow” on our class behavior chart, this is also a loss of 5 minutes of recess

~after 1 verbal warning and a move to “yellow”, students will move to “red”this is also a loss of recess to fill out a “Behavior Reflection”. This form must be signed by a parent, and returned the next school day.

~Being removed from the class to the "buddy room"

~Discipline referral form, as per school handbook for major offenses/a repeated minor offense

Mrs. Bainbridge's Procedures

I have developed a list of classroom procedures that we will spend a great deal of time learning at the beginning of the year.

The procedures will help us smoothly accomplish tasks like entering and exiting the room, walking in line, and using our classroom restroom, among other things.

I will keep a binder with our procedures in the classroom so that we can refer to it as needed. If a student continually needs a reminder about a certain procedure, I will ask that student to take out our "Procedure Handbook" and look up the procedure for the task they are unsure about.

This will be a great tool to help our classroom run efficiently.

Please click the link below for a copy of the handbook that you can review with your child.

Procedure Handbook

*Because every child is different, the teacher and principal reserve the right to modify rewards/consequences/procedures if needed*
