The Daily Five



The Daily Five

I will be using a modified format of the Daily Five in my classroom this year. I will be incorporating the vocabulary and spelling from our reading series (MMH Treasures) on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and will teach the phonics skill through Patricia Cunningham's "Making Words" activites on Wednesday and Friday. I will use my basal reader and connected texts to teach comprehension skills Monday-Thursday. Weekly grammar skills are taught during shared writing as part of our "PM Meeting". Our language arts block will be scheduled as follows:

Here is the choice board where students will put in cards for their choices. I will also put in cards for when I  want students to meet with me.

These are the choice cards for D5. I have printed them on cardstock and laminated them. You can print them below either on Avery #8160 labels or on cardstock.
