Mrs. Zvanovec loves ART and reading and volleyball and gardens and animals and nature and traveling
(to anywhere and everywhere) and movies and quiet (when possible)! She doesn't have a favorite color
because she loves all colors, black too! Her favorite museum is the Musee d'Orsay in Paris (see my links
to check it out). My favorite art movement is Impressionism. I love the architecture of Frank Lloyd
Wright. Mary Cassat and Alphonse Mucha are two of my favorite artist (Mucha is originally from
Czechoslovakia). I also don't have a favorite food because I love so many different kinds of food and will
usually try anything (except sushi)!
ART:
At St. Wenceslaus School, we present Art as a channel for creativity and expression of
spirituality. It
offers students a means of self-expression and creativity that enhances the whole of life.
Students are
guided by their knowledge of the elements and principles of art, to a better understanding and
appreciation for this unique form of communication.
TECHNOLOGY:
At St. Wenceslaus School, we believe the use and understanding of technology is essential to the
teaching of the whole child. We believe this tool is of interdisciplinary nature, and should be
integrated into all curriculum, rather than stand alone in isolation.
Technology allows us to better serve the diverse learning styles of our students. Technology use
and education supports the development of critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration
skills where students can take control of their learning.
There are moral, ethical and legal issues involved with technology use. As Catholic Christians,
we recognize the importance of developing a clear understanding of the principles governing
those issues, communication and teaching them to our students, and modeling and following
them in our teaching and professional practices.
The use of technology is ever changing in our world, therefore we believe it is an excellent
example of our mission in action-we need to learn and embrace new forms of technology as
they become available.
