Meet Mrs. Sugg
My name is Mrs. Sugg, and this will be my third year teaching third grade at Ben D. Quinn Elementary.
I have previously taught one year of 5th grade and three years of 2nd grade in Michigan.
I grew up in Cheboygan, Michigan (technically Ocqueoc, MI...but I don't think it is even ON a map!! :))
which is near the tip of the Lower Peninsula. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree from
Central Michigan University in 2002, and I graduated from Central again May 2010 with my Master's Degree
I love the outdoors, and I enjoy being outside as much as I can! I also love a challenge! This past January 2010
I set a goal for myself to RUN a half marathon in May which I did! It was one of the best
experiences of my life, and I had the pleasure of doing it with fellow BDQ staff members.
I hope to use this experience to carry over into my classroom the importance of setting goals and working
hard to achieve them. I enjoyed myself so much that we all are running 3 more together this fall!
I also have a dog named Zoey who is a schnoodle and a mixed breed dog named Acadia.
I am also very close to my family who still live in Cheboygan, Michigan.
I have 1 younger sister, Kelly who is a fantastic artist and lives in Newport News, Virginia
with her husband Brandon who is in the Coast Guard.
I just got married this past April 2010. I am still trying to get used to being called Mrs. Sugg instead of Ms. Sanford! :)
My husband is also a teacher. He teaches 5th grade at W. J. Gurganus Elementary in Havelock.
I am so excited for another GREAT year here at Ben D. Quinn, and I am happy to be a
part of such a FANTASTIC school!!!
