•	Critical Stance – compare, contrast, author’s purpose, analogies,
        author’s craft, cause and effect, fact and opinion, impact of 
        literary elements, evaluate accuracy of information and ideas
•	Connections – comparing two selections – text to text and text to
        real world
***Every student will have an A.R. range and “Independent Reading Level” 
students may not read book with less than a one-point book value.  Students 
should take at least one test a week.  An 85% score is considered passing.
