2011-2012 Catamounts’ Night Out (Spirit Night for Panther Creek High School) Calling all Panther Creek students, parents, and staff….Don’t miss the chance this school year to dine out with your family and friends while raising money for the PTSA (Parent Teacher Student Association). Just be sure to tell the restaurant staff you’re from Panther Creek when ordering, so the PTSA will receive a percentage of the sales. If you’re too busy to eat in the restaurant, just order take-out, and enjoy a night out of the kitchen! Most restaurants are also including lunch. It’s a fun way to relax, connect with family and friends, and help your school at the same time.

The PCHS PTSA is proud to support and sponsor the President’s Volunteer Service Award for our students. This program is open to all students of Panther Creek High School. Criteria for the Award: A student (age 15 and up) must volunteer for a minimum of 100 hours during the twelve month period of October 1st through September 30th, to be eligible to receive this prestigious award. Awards are granted as follows:
Bronze : 100-174 volunteer hours/12 month period Silver : 175-249 volunteer hours/12 month period Gold : 250 or more volunteer hours/12 month period Students age 14 and below volunteer for fewer hours. The web site details the hours required to earn each award level. How Do Student Participate? Students should create an account at www.presidentialserviceawards.gov which allows them to track their volunteer hours online. This account is created for free and you may access it any time to record your volunteer service. When recording your hours, in the Description of Service area, please name a person from the organization you volunteered for. You will login and print your service record (use the option to “download to Excel spreadsheet”, then print). Be sure to print the page with your name on it. You must have a parent/guardian sign the form. PCHS PTSA reserves the right to verify the hours you have listed with the organization serviced. Students will receive their pins and certificates before winter break. Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back to your community and this award should be proudly listed on your college resume! Additional information will be posted on the PTSA website and the school web site. Please turn in your completed records to Kim Fegeley in the main office on or before October 31st. Should there be any further questions or concerns, contact Michele L. Moore at: moore1597@nc.rr.com. |
