What is The Breakfast Club?

Students come to school at 8:05 and eat a light breakfast in the classroom
with other club members and Mrs. Paige. They receive a homework pass and a
Breakfast Club pencil. An all day pass is raffled. Breakfast Club meetings
are held approximately every five weeks. All students are able to make The
Breakfast Club if they put names on their papers, and pass them in the day
after they are assigned.

How does a student make the honor roll in our class?

Getting all assignments passed in on the day after they have been assigned
for an entire week earns you a star on the honor roll. This has nothing to
do with grades received, but is a reward for effort shown.

Will we have homework every night?

Assignments are given Monday to Thursday, but may be completed in class
during our study time. In addition, most months will have a book assignment
due on the last day. Students should always have a book to be read for that
month's reading assignment. Various long term projects will also be assigned
throughout the year.

What are Weekly Reports?

Weekly Reports are the bright yellow papers stapled to the corrected work
completed that week. If any assignments were missing or late, they will be
listed there. Congratulations will be given to the students who have
everything in on time.

Is fifth grade hard?

Although some work we'll do will be more challenging for you to understand
than other topics, it is the job of your teacher to help every student who is
trying to learn how to do it. You will be amazed and happy with how much you
will learn in fifth grade.
