Mrs. Chiemiego 2nd Grade WEEKLY LETTER 10-29-09
READING: We read "Mia Hamm: Winners Never Quit". We also read "Two Races"
and worked on the skill "Make Predictions". Next week we will read "Gus and
the Two-Wheeled Bike" and continue making predictions.
SPELLING: Due to the short week, there will be no spelling test next week.
Students will practice spelling words in school and we will have a class
spelling bee next Friday to practice words.
LANGUAGE: We began learning about nouns. Next week we will review singular
and plural nouns.
SCIENCE: We learned about the woodland forest and rain forest. Next week we
will learn about deserts and oceans.
MATH: We are learning "Addition Strategies". Please practice
addition facts at home. We will have a test on Tuesday, Nov.3.
Next week:
- UNICEF boxes and information will come home on October 29. Please return
boxes to school by Wed., Nov. 4th if you participate.
