The first of two parent conference days are this Wed., Nov.11, and next
Thursday, Nov. 19th. Reminder notices about the time you each signed up for
went home in the backpack on Wed., Nov.4th.
Something new the three second grades have started this week is the
November Homework Bonus Calendar. This is an OPTIONAL assignment that the
students will be given extra credit for completing any or all boxes. They
will also be sharing their bonus work with the rest of the class. It is due
at the end of the month. This has nothing to do with the spelling tic tac
toe. If you have any questions, please let me know.
We will be finishing up our study of the Arctic Habitat in science and will
be starting the Rainforest Habitat..
In health we are continuing to talk about keeping healthy and eating
healthy. The children enjoyed sharing their color of the week snack. This
week's rainbow snack color is "green." Thank you for your cooperation with
this.
In social studies we will start talking about Thanksgiving. The history
behind it, why it is an American holiday, and comparing life then to life now.
We will be ending this unit with a cooking activity.
Please be sure that your child has his homework folder, spiral homework
notebook, and purple homework notebook each day when they come to school. We
use these things first thing in the morning.
