This week's Spelling/Vocabulary words are: cat, job, pat, vet, hog, help,
out, small, good, want.
MONDAY: Read over the story "A Vet" in your reader on pages 126-133 and
complete Practice book pages 75-76. Study for Spellng Test on Thursday.
We are visiting the Christmas Sale tomorrow. Please send money in an
envelope with your child's name and grade on it.
TUESDAY: Read over the story "My Dog Mack" and complete Practice book pages
81-82 and Math workbook page 40. Study for Spelling Test on Thursday
WEDNESDAY: Read and discuss chapter 13 in your Religion book on pages 155-
160 and write a sentence for each spelling word. Study for Spelling Test
tomorrow.
THURSDAY: No homework - no school tomorrow.
FRIDAY: No school, have a terrific weekend!

on paper provided. Please practice addition facts with sums to 12 for timed

TUESDAY: Complete Math Workbook page 38 and
Read over Chapter 8 in Religion pages 95-103.
WEDNESDAY: Thanksgiving Celebration-Bring a snack if you do not like bagels.

MONDAY: Read over the story "The Bug Bath" in your reader on pages 38-61
and write your spelling words three times each.
TUESDAY: Complete Math workbook page 27 and Practice book pages 55-56. Study
doubles facts to 12; 0+0=0, 1+1=2, 2+2=4, 3+3=6, 4+4=8, 5+5=10, 6+6=12.
School pictures tomorrow.
WEDNESDAY: Complete Math workbook page 28 and read over chapter 6 in your
Religion book on pages 79-83. Study for Spelling/Vocabulary Test on Friday.
THURSDAY: Write a sentence for each spelling word and complete Phonics book
pages 101-102. Study for Spelling/Vocabulary Test tomorrow. Dress Down day

and look over the Saints information sheet and complete the Saints worksheet.
Hand in the Saints Worksheet tomorrow.
TUESDAY: Complete Math workbook pages 24-25 and review the Review the Saints
Worksheet and the Saints book that is sent home today.
WEDNESDAY: Complete Math workbook page 26 and Phonics book pages 97-98. Wear
your Gym clothes tomorrow. Study for Spelling/Vocabulary test on Friday.
THURSDAY: Have fun Trick or Treating! No Homework!

Dear Parents and Students please try to attend the Book Fair Family Sneak
Peek on Sunday, October 26 from 8:30 AM to 2:00PM. in our library. Enter the
building via the doors on terrace Avenue. This is a great opportunity to
preview the book selection as our class will be attending the Book Fair the
very next day and possibly win books for our classroom library.
The class with the most parents attending will win a voucher to purchase
books for their classroom library.
Week of October 20th
This week's spelling/vocabulary words are: bus, fast, go, map, ship, stop,
this, look, what, could.
MONDAY: Read the story "Ships" in your reader on pages 90-97 and
complete Math workbook page 21.
TUESDAY: Study your math facts for sums of 7 and 8. Complete Practice book
pages 33-34. Review your Spelling/Vocabulary words for test on Friday.
WEDNESDAY: Complete Math workbook page 22 and talk about Saints you know.
Start deciding which Saint you are going to dress as for our All Saints
celebration at the Liturgy on November 14th. Study for Spelling/Vocabulary
Test on Friday. Wear Gym clothes tomorrow.
THURSDAY: Complete Math workbook page 23 and write a sentence for each
spelling word. Underline the word in the sentence. Study for
Spelling/Vocabulary test tomorrow.

We will be visiting the Scholastic Book Fair on Monday, October 27, 2008 at
8:30am. Please send your child with money to school if you like him/her to
make any purchases. Please put the money in an envelope. Please write your
child's name, grade, and Book Fair on the front of the envelope. Please make
any checks payable to St. Joseph Grade School PTA.

TUESDAY: Complete Math workbook page 18. Look over Religion review. Study
spelling/vocabulary words for test on Thursday.
WEDNESDAY: Write one sentence for each Spelling/Vocabulary Word on
paper provided. Look over Religion review. Study spelling/vocabulary words
for test tomorrow.

THURSDAY: Read over Chapter 5 in Religion Book and complete Math workbook
page 19. Wear gym clothes for Walk-a-thon tomorrow.
