To All 8th Grade Students and Parents,
This is a critical year for you. At the end of the school year, you will be expected to take the New York
State Integrated Algebra Regents Exam. You will also be taking the New York State 8th Grade Math
Assessment. In addition to all of this, you will be also taking 4 Periodic Assessments. This can be a
very stressfull year. If you are willing to put the effort into the material, we as a group will be able to
accomplish all of the goals that lie before us. Communication is the key to this. Lets work together to
do all that lies ahead.

To All 10th Grade Students and Parents,
This also is a critical year for you as well. You will be expected to take either the New York State
Geometry Regents in June, or if you have already taken that test, you will be taking the Algebra
2/Trigonetry Regents. This is in addition to 4 Periodic Assessments. One of my objectives is to prepare
you for the Diploma Math Program. There is much work to be done. You will have to bring together all
that you have learned in mathematics. Algebra 2/Trigonometry is like a jig-saw puzzle, we will be
piecing together many componenets of what you have already learned, effort will be the key. This
course is very demanding, how well you communicate your understanding of the content will be very
important. I will help you there, but you must also be willing to extend yourselves to accomplish this.
There will be times of frustration not only with the content, but with me as well. be patient and we will
get through this with flying colors.
Mr. Heine
