In the Evans Art Room

Welcome to the James S. Evans Elementary Art Room!

Keep checking this web site to see what's new in the Art Room!

You can Bookmark or add this page to your Favorites so you can return
easily!

This web site is intended for use by students and parents. You
can find out what project or artist your little artist is working on
or learning about very easily by clicking on their grade level on the
Home Page or at the top of each page!
You can also research the artist your child is learning about
by going to the Artist Links Page...I will try to include some web
sites about the artists or you can search easily at the bottoms of
both link pages. I encourage you to research even more with your
children...I wish that I had the time to teach them EVERYTHING about
ART!!!
Have fun going through Artists' Birthdays, the links to museums, or e-
mail me about a question or whatever is on your mind!

I hope you enjoy this web site and that you use this as an
educational tool for you and your little artists!

Classroom Policy:
In the Art Room, I use a system where students earn stars. Four stars
is a fantastic day in Art and is determined by: the student coming in ready
for Art; listening to the teacher; following Art Room Rules; working hard and
TRYING to work hard on the project; a good clean-up of Art Room materials;
and lining up quietly and ready for the classroom teacher. I use Art Charts
to tally the stars for each day and give the copy to the classroom teacher.
Many of the teachers use this Star Chart and apply any loss of stars in Art
to their behavior charts in their classrooms. If students lose two or more
stars from their chart in Art, I will usually give them a warning that their
parents will receive a phone call or note from me. The next time they lose
two stars or more, their seat will usually be moved and the principal will be
asked to see the student. This also depends on the nature of the loss of
stars too. If you have any questions on the Art Charts, please call and
schedule a meeting with me! I'll be glad to explain them better!
