MUSIC IN OUR SCHOOLS MONTH UPDATE

Another tremendous performance was accomplished yesterday (3/12/09) when the Marlboro Jazz Band performed at the Empire State Plaza (NOT building!) to a captivated audience in the South Concourse. Assemblyman (100th district) Skartados greeted the band members as did the president of the New York State School Music Association prior to the band kicking off their first number. Many parents also made the trek to the state capital to watch their children perform. I would like to thank everyone there for your support and help with the success of this program.

I can not emphasize enough how extremely proud I am of our group of young musicians. They play with a level of intensity and enthusiasm way beyond their years. It is a very humbling experience to be able to work with and be a part of such an outstanding group of students.

Congratulations to everyone and I am looking forward to our next performance which will be next Wednesday night, 6:30 PM, 3/18, here at the middle school gym for our Diversity Night.
