When is extra help?

My Extra help will be every Thursday immediately after 9th period. It will
be held in room 133. If you have a conflict with my extra help, I encourage
you to make a separate appointment with me or attend another teacher's extra
help session for that week.

Law: When do we start mock trials?

In order for you to effectively participate in the mock trial portion of this
course, you must first learn about the law and the roles which will affect
your performance. Mock trials will begin during the 2nd Quarter of school.

US: Will there be pop tests or quizzes?

I will try to give 3-5 days notice for exams and will ensure that an extra
help session will be given after school prior to the exam. I usually do not
give pop quizzes, but I do reserve the right to give quizzes on any work
taught in, or reading assigned for, class prior to quiz.
Homework assignments will ALWAYS be graded and may count as quizzes.

How much does class participation count?

In U.S. History, participation will count as approximately 15% of your
overall grade.
In my elective law classes, 40% of your overall grade is class
participation.
Regardless of the course, class participation is is NECESSARY to excel.

I expect ALL of my students to enthusiastically participate in a standard
class period as well as during mock trials.

Law and 9th Period US: What if I don't make it to room 140A on time?

I understand that the my courtroom is far away from many other classrooms. My
solution is for you to bring your law books to the class you have before
law. Chronic lateness to class will affect your class participation grade
(remember, class participation is 40% of your grade).

What if I am absent for class?

Students are responsible for making up all missed work due to absenteeism in
a timely fashion. If a student is in school, but misses class for any reason
(e.g. lessons, late sign in, early sign out) s/he is responsible for handing
in any assignment due that day ON THAT DAY or it will be considered late
(students may drop off work in appropriate classroom or my mailbox in the
General Office).

Can I e-mail you?

Absolutely. Any student can e-mail me regarding SCHOOL ASSIGNMENTS or SCHOOL
RELATED questions via this webpage. However, it would be wise to e-mail me
prior to 9PM as I may not check my mail after that time.
