Process

1. Learn about Africa.
2. Decide on a board game that will share facts about Africa with other
students.
3. Construct the board game.
4. Try to include the following:
Maps with keys, grids, compass rose, etc.
At least one chart or graph.
Something about climate of Africa and how it affects styles of living.
Plants and animals of the regions.
Features that effect the economy of the regions.
Natural resources, imports and exports of the region.
Something about culture, landforms, customs, holidays, language.
5. Play the game as a team and be ready to share it with the class.

Specific components of the game:

Objective: Your game should represent a journey through Africa where various
pieces of information or objects can be collected for a win. Think of it as
a scavenger hunt for information related to a theme or topic of your choice.

To speed up the project, you should divide up the work of creating the game,
but decide on the topic and type of game you will make together.

The game must fit into a shoebox.

It should provide playing pieces for four players. You can make these, use
buttons, or round up some old pieces from another game, but the pieces will
have to stay with the game.

The game board and box should be decorated to go with the theme of your game.

You must provide a set of rules secured in the lid of the box. Keep your
rules simple.

You must provide an answer key. This can be done on the back of trivia cards
if you choose to use them.

Use small baggies for various playing parts, cards, dice, spinners, etc.

A variety of topics for your questions is critical. You need a minimum of 20
question and spaces on the board. You may use questions in any of the
following categories:

geography/climate	religion languages	ancient cultures of Africa
customs monuments/achievements population distribution
colonial powers
