| Students have been learning about timelines, including the definitions of the abbreviations BC, AD, BCE,
and CE. They have learned to construct multi-tiered timelines and also how to read them. As we move
toward the end of November and throughout December, we will be working on a unit that looks at how
and why countries trade with each other and how geographic location can help or hurt trade. We will
create an “island” culture in our classroom, complete with mountains, rivers, and other landforms.
Students will figure out how to trade with each other even when they have major geographic features in
the way!
